Troubleshooting — Powerbanks
If your powerbank is not performing as expected, the steps below can help resolve the most common issues quickly.
Before proceeding, we recommend reviewing:
• Is This Normal? — Powerbank Behaviour Explained
• Why Your Powerbank or Charger Feels Warm
Many concerns are often related to cables, chargers, or device requirements rather than the powerbank itself.
Powerbank Not Charging or Battery Percentage Not Increasing
The steps below apply to most Chargeasap powerbanks with USB-C charging.
Step 1 — Check the Cable and Charging Port
Test your USB-C cable with another device to confirm it is working correctly.
Ensure the cable supports the required wattage for fast charging.
Inspect the charging port and confirm the connection feels secure when plugged in.
If available, try a different cable and wall charger to compare results.
Many charging issues are caused by cables or power adapters rather than the powerbank.
Step 2 — Test While Connected to Wall Power (Passthrough Charging)
Plug the powerbank into a wall charger and leave it connected for approximately 30 minutes.
While it remains plugged in, connect a phone or tablet to one of the output ports.
Check whether:
The connected device begins charging
The powerbank battery percentage increases
Make a note of what you observe.
Step 3 — Reset the Powerbank
Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to perform a reset.
This helps recalibrate the internal power management system.
Step 4 — Confirm Your Wall Charger Is Suitable
Recharge speed depends heavily on the wall charger being used.
Lower-wattage chargers will recharge larger-capacity powerbanks more slowly.
For best results:
Use a high-output USB-C charger
Pair with a high-wattage cable
Avoid low-power phone chargers for large powerbanks
When paired with an appropriate high-output charger, many Chargeasap powerbanks can recharge in a fraction of the time compared to standard battery packs.
Step 5 — Still Not Working? Record a Short Video
If the issue continues, a short video helps our team assess the behavior faster.
Please keep the video under 2 minutes and show:
The port you are using
The cable connected
The charging attempt
Any ports that are functioning normally
Upload via WeTransfer, Google Drive, or Dropbox and include the link when submitting your request.
Step 6 — Include These Details
Providing the information below allows us to assist you more efficiently:
Wall charger used (example: 140W USB-C charger, laptop charger, etc.)
Cable used
Order number
Powerbank Is Not Recharging
If the powerbank does not appear to recharge:
Confirm the wall charger is functioning
Try a different outlet
Test another USB-C cable
Ensure the charger provides sufficient wattage
Large-capacity powerbanks require higher input power and may recharge slowly when paired with lower-output adapters.
Charging Speed Seems Slower Than Expected
Charging speed is influenced by several factors:
The device’s supported charging limit
Cable capability
Wall charger wattage
Battery level of the connected device
Temperature conditions
It is normal for charging speeds to slow as devices approach full battery capacity.
For the fastest performance:
Use high-wattage chargers
Use certified cables
Disconnect unused devices
Wireless Charging Not Working
If wireless charging is not activating:
Confirm your device supports wireless charging
Ensure wireless charging is turned on — activation methods can vary by model
Check your product guide or instruction manual for model-specific steps
Reposition the device on the charging surface
Remove phone cases
Ensure the powerbank has sufficient battery
Wireless charging requires proper coil alignment, so adjusting the device slightly may help establish a connection.
One Port Isn’t Working
Test the port with another cable
Try charging a different device
Check for dust or debris in the port
Confirm the cable fits securely
Power output may adjust automatically when multiple devices are connected.
Testing ports individually can help isolate the behavior.
OLED Display Is Not Turning On
For models equipped with an OLED display:
Press the power button once to activate the screen
Connect a device to trigger display activity
Recharge the powerbank if the battery is fully depleted
Allow a few minutes of charging before attempting to power the display
Some models use power-saving features that turn the display off when not in active use.
If the Display Still Does Not Activate
Try a different charging cable and wall adapter
Confirm the wall charger is functioning
Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to perform a reset
Resetting helps recalibrate the internal power management system and may restore display function.
Powerbank Stops Charging Temporarily
If charging pauses or resumes:
Check whether the connected device has reached full battery
Disconnect and reconnect the cable
Test another cable if available
Temporary pauses can occur as devices negotiate power requirements.
